The short version: we don't upload your images, we don't track you personally, and the only data we handle is what third-party advertising and analytics services collect through your browser. Keep reading for the details.
1. Your Images Never Leave Your Device
Every image-editing tool on FreeImageToolsOnline — the background remover, compressor, resizer, converter, cropper, watermark remover, photo editor, meme generator, and all PDF tools — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API.
When you upload a photo to any of our tools, that file is loaded into your browser's memory on your own device. It is processed there, and the resulting output is generated there. At no point is any image or PDF file ever transmitted to our servers, or to any third party.
In plain terms: we literally do not have the technical ability to see your images, and we couldn't retrieve them even if a court ordered us to.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of information needed to operate the website:
- Server logs: Our web host automatically records standard information like IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. These logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting purposes.
- Contact form submissions: If you send us a message via the contact page, we receive the name, email address, and message you provided. We use this only to respond to you.
We do not operate user accounts, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors on our own servers.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We may use a small amount of browser local storage to remember your preferences (such as tool settings you've customized). This data stays on your device and is not sent anywhere.
Third-party services we use — primarily Google AdSense — may set their own cookies in your browser. These are governed by those services' own privacy policies, linked below.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is supported by ads delivered through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This may include:
- Personalized advertising based on your interests
- Measurement of ad performance
- Fraud prevention

We may use privacy-friendly analytics tools to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic patterns (e.g., which tools are most popular, what devices visitors use). These tools do not identify individual users.
6. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of that information
- Opt out of certain data processing
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be highlighted on our homepage for at least 30 days.
